David R. Freiman
I am honored to take the responsibility as Chess Tournament Director for Shining Knights Chess. Since my days as an MBA student at Rutgers University, I have formally ran chess programs, taught group and individual lessons, directed tournaments, and played several simuls against up to 23 opponents at once. For over 10 years I have regularly volunteered my time to teach chess to inner city youths, encouraging healthy activities to kids during the most dangerous time - the few hours after school ends til the parents are around. Headhouse Bookstore on Queen Village has been a home for my volunteerism, hosting dozens of bright students of this amazing and rewarding game. I am extremely grateful of the dedication and engagement of both the parents and students of the game.
